More about Punta Roquitas

Punta Roquitas is a beach break with a jetty in Miraflores that produces lefts and rights over a boulder and sand bottom. The waves work best on low to mid tide with a southwest swell and northeast wind offshore, typically ranging from waist-high to overhead. The break is reliable year-round, with the most consistent conditions in summer, particularly February. Being a popular venue for competing surfers, the spot is frequently crowded with both experienced and less experienced riders.

The spot secured its place in the region's competitive surfing calendar by hosting the 2016 Pan American Surf Games in October, an event that drew 260 athletes from 12 nations competing across shortboard, longboard, SUP, and bodyboard disciplines. The selection of Punta Roquitas as a host venue underscored its standing as a recognized training and competition ground for regional surfers.

Punta Roquitas sits conveniently on Lima's Costa Verde coastline within the Miraflores district, with parking directly in front of the beach and good visibility of your vehicle from the water. The accessibility makes it a practical spot for locals, though pollution and rocks present persistent concerns alongside the typical hazards of a heavily used urban beach break.
