Pico Alto is the offshore big-wave reef at Punta Hermosa, south of Lima. Powerful southwest swells can form long right-hand walls well beyond the shore break, requiring a substantial paddle and experienced big-wave skills. The break hosted the 2014 Billabong Pico Alto contest. Exact wave heights vary by reporting convention and swell.
