More about Chunan

Chunan is a sandy beach break with both left and right-hand reforms, positioned as a beginner-friendly spot best during the fall and winter months when strong northeasterly winds generate waves up to around six feet. Early morning sessions offer the smoothest conditions before winds strengthen mid-morning, at which point the increasing wind makes the beach popular with kiteboarders and windsurfers. The spot has shallow sections and experiences tide-driven current effects; mid-tide generally offers the most manageable conditions.

Access is straightforward via Highway 3, with a simple exit to the beach just two kilometers away. The long sandy beach is near Zhunan's harbor area in Miaoli County, with fresh seafood vendors and local amenities nearby. The spot draws a mixed crowd of surfers, kiteboarders, and windsurfers due to the consistent wind patterns and accessible entry point.
