About
The Double Up is a domesticated big-wave weapon built for serious surf, developed originally for Lewis Samuels at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach. Starting from a stretched RockUp platform, it blends a confident glide and easy entry into heavy surf with the performance tail rocker needed for steep, hollow waves.
Features
- Refined big-wave outline: Stretched to a longer template without adding excessive width; retains a wider nose than a traditional gun for paddle power and a relaxed entry rocker for early wave entry.
- Shallowed single concave: Runs tip-to-tail to slice through chop and maintain a neutral, fast feel underfoot.
- Strategic volume distribution: Added thickness throughout with tapered perimeter rails and volume hidden in the center deck and nose for sensitivity without bulk.
- Generous tail rocker: Tuned for performance in steep, critical sections.
- Custom-order only: Not a stock model; available through all dealers for custom orders.
