History
Hess Surfboards is known for heirloom-quality, eco-friendly surfboards built from reclaimed wood and organic materials. Based in California, the brand was founded by Danny Hess in 2000 and constructs each board with an internal wooden frame skeleton, vacuum molds, and autoclaves, then fills them with foam and encases them in salvaged wood sealed with sap-derived epoxy. Rider Luke Bartels is associated with the brand.
