More about Twin Rivers
Twin Rivers features two distinct river-mouth breaks at the confluence where the East and West Twin Rivers meet the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The left break off the West Twin River is the primary break, characterized by gentle, forgiving waves with extended walls ideal for cruising—often compared to a Malibu-style left. The right break off the East Twin River is less frequently surfed and typically offers shorter walls with snappier sections. Both breaks respond best to west-northwest swells, south-southeast winds, and perform optimally during low-to-mid tide. The spot comes alive from October through March when Pacific storms generate reliable swell.
Access is via Highway 112 at the West Twin River bridge. No overnight parking or camping is permitted at the site. The north bank features steep cliffs created by historical mining and earth movement, which presents a significant hazard. The mouth area experiences extremely dangerous conditions for boat landings.
