Sumiyoshi is an expert-only reef break on Tanegashima Island, Kyushu, with right-hand waves over shallow reef and rock. Known for heavy tubing that demands expert skills, it attracts a dedicated local crowd. The spot is located in a residential area with no street parking, and receives best swell from the SSW.
