São Julião is a beginner-friendly beach break near Ericeira with sand bottom and waves from both directions, best on westerly swells at low to mid tide with ESE winds. Rocks line the middle and southern sections, while rip currents appear on bigger days and crowds from surf schools are common. The break can be easily maxed out in larger swells.
