More about Rockview
Rockview is a reef break with two distinct sections that works year-round but comes alive in winter when swells reach overhead size. The inside and outside reefs offer different characteristics depending on swell direction and size; west-northwest swells produce the best shaped walls that wrap across the formation. Conditions are most manageable at low to mid tide, with northeast offshore wind ideal for clean faces. The shallow rocky nature creates hazards and demands careful navigation, making it primarily an intermediate break.
Access at Rockview Drive County Park involves limited parking on Rockview Drive itself, though parking lots at the end of 41st Avenue provide overflow space. Stairs descend from the residential area directly to the break, with alternative access between houses or scrambling over rocks at the ocean end of the road. A small picnic table overlooks the water.
