Rifles is a challenging right-hand reef break in Mentawai best suited for advanced surfers. The shallow reef bottom creates fast, hollow waves with strong currents and the risk of being dragged over the reef. Best conditions occur with mid to high tide, northwest wind, and south-southwest swell direction.
