More about RiF010
RiF010 is an artificial wave pool generating consistent right-breaking waves up to 1.5 meters high using pneumatic technology developed with Delft University of Technology. The wave breaks every 7 to 8 seconds, with adjustable heights for different skill levels—beginner sessions at 1 meter, intermediate at 1.3 meters, and expert sessions at 1.5 to 1.6 meters.
RiF010 opened on July 6, 2024, with the inaugural Rotterdam Surf Open, featuring demonstrations by world champion Ítalo Ferreira and competitions for both amateurs and professionals. The venue hosted the Red Bull Pool Clash in August 2025, a 1-on-1 competition series that drew Dutch surfers; Oliver Heintz and Jessy van Wijk won the men's and women's titles respectively. It is the world's first wave pool constructed in the heart of an active city center rather than a standalone resort.
Located on the Steigersgracht canal between downtown Rotterdam and Markthal, the facility is a short walk from Blaak Station and sits within the bustling urban core. The pool spans 125 meters long and 25 meters wide. Session costs range from €35 to €60 per hour depending on wave height selected.
