More about Punta Santo Domingo
Punta Santo Domingo is an exposed point with both sand and reef, a south-facing setup that breaks left and right. It requires south or strong west swells to produce rideable waves, with northeast wind providing the best offshore shape. The break runs for roughly 100 meters across sand bottom in places. Most consistent during spring months and October, though summer swells from tropical systems can deliver waves March through November. Intermediate-level surfers get the best out of it when swell aligns, though smaller summer groundswells occasionally work for less experienced riders.
Located north of Scorpion Bay in central Baja Sur, Punta Santo Domingo remains lightly surfed because of its exposure and fickle conditions. The remote setting means you won't encounter crowds even on good days, though isolation and shark presence carry real risks. Access is rough and there are strong rip currents in the area.
