Porthmeor near St Ives is a beginner-level sand beach break that works in both left and right directions. Best surfed at low to mid tide with northwest swell and south winds, though watch for rips, rocks in larger swells, and fast-changing tide depth. The spot hosts the Porthmeor Longboard Classic, part of the British Longboard Union Tour.
