Pohoiki at Isaac Hale Beach Park is a Puna surf area reshaped by Kīlauea's 2018 eruption. Black sand now covers the former harbor entrance, and seasonal swells continue to move the shoreline. Surfing here is for experienced surfers; check current access and ocean conditions because older reef descriptions may no longer match the beach.
