More about Ormond Beach
Ormond Beach is a sand and rock jetty break producing consistent left and right-hand waves year-round. The break works best on high tide with southwest swell and northeast offshore winds. Wave heights typically range from waist-high to just overhead before closing out, making it accessible for beginners when conditions align. The beach break exposes groundswells more readily than wind-generated waves, and winter months—particularly February—offer the most reliable clean conditions, though the majority of days produce waves small enough that many experienced surfers pass it over.
Ormond Beach sits within a two-mile shoreline between Port Hueneme and the Naval Base Ventura County boundary. Access is available from a free parking lot at the end of Arnold Road, with additional parking near Ocean View Drive requiring a one-mile walk to reach the water. The location is notable as part of a restored wetland area with bird-watching trails running parallel to the beach.
