More about Les Boulassiers
Les Boulassiers is a sheltered left-hand reef break that produces soft, manageable waves ranging from small to occasionally overhead in strong swell events. The break works across all tides, though rising and high tide provide better conditions and reduce the injury hazard posed by the shallow, rocky bottom. Best swell comes from the northwest or west, and offshore southwest or southeast wind enhances ridability. The spot suits intermediate and experienced surfers over beginners.
Access is via small parking areas along the Douhet road near Le Douhet port in La Brée-les-Bains on Île d'Oléron. A 500-meter walk across the reef, taking roughly 10 minutes, is required to reach the breaking waves.
