More about Miramar

Miramar is a sheltered point break near Montecito featuring small, well-formed waves favored by longboarders. The break works best on a west swell with north or northeast wind, particularly during the winter months around low to mid tide. An inside reefy left section in shallower water can get hollow and fast, creating a more challenging zone than the outer point.

Miramar sits within Santa Barbara's broader, established surfing culture. Santa Barbara has produced notable watermen and board designers, and the area sees consistent winter activity, though Miramar itself is not widely associated with major competitions or pioneering sessions.

The spot has public access via Eucalyptus Lane, though the surrounding area is bordered by private Montecito residential property. Hazards include rocks and shallow reef sections that expose especially at low tide, and currents can build when swell is running.
