More about Madonnina
Madonnina is a beach break with a sandy bottom where shifting sandbanks help shape waves during Adriatic storms. The spot works best with northeast, east, and southeast swells, typical of the region's autumn and winter swell pattern from September through spring. Waves tend to be soft and manageable, particularly suited to beginners and longboard surfers. Strong wind can make conditions choppy, so the best sessions occur with light offshore or declining wind conditions.
Madonnina has become one of the most frequently visited surf spots in Emilia-Romagna over time. The break draws local surfers, longboarders, windsurfers, and kitesurfers, and serves as a gathering point for the regional water sports community. The Windsurf Club Cesenatico operates in the area.
The spot sits in the Ponente (west) section of Cesenatico's waterfront, north of the commercial port. Access is straightforward from the town beach. Water temperatures vary considerably with seasons, from around 7°C in winter to 30°C in summer, making wetsuits essential from September through May.
