More about La Pastora

La Pastora is a beach break with a rocky point that produces both rights and lefts, though rights dominate especially on winter swells. The bottom is rocky and the wave can be quite hollow. It works on both southwest and northwest swells, ranging from around 4 feet to double or triple overhead in the winter, and handles summer south swells as well. Best surfed on mid to low tides before morning winds pick up, in the 4–8 foot range for most conditions, with November being the most consistent month. For intermediate and advanced surfers only.

Access requires driving north from Todos Santos near the Hotel California, then taking a dirt road for roughly two kilometers. The final approach crosses soft sand that challenges standard vehicles, with low tire pressure recommended if you lack four-wheel drive. Parking is directly on sand near the beach and can be problematic after rain or heavy use, though moving 50 yards back from the dune typically avoids the worst of it. The location is remote with no facilities, services, or lifeguards nearby.
