More about L&T surfer wave
The Hasewelle is a stationary wave generated by Citywave technology in the basement of an L&T sports department store in downtown Osnabrück. The wave reaches 1.4 to 1.8 meters in height and operates within a pool measuring 7.5 by 16 meters, with its intensity adjustable to suit different skill levels from beginners to advanced riders. It accommodates surfboards, SUPs, bodyboards, and kayaks year-round regardless of weather.
The facility opened in March 2018 and has since become a venue for standing wave surfing competitions. The o2 Surf Masters series, which began in 2026, now tours five German standing waves with L&T Hasewelle as the first stop each year, awarding competitors prize money and surf camp trips. This represents the introduction of rapid surfing—performing tricks on stationary waves—to competitive events in the region.
Access is provided through 45-minute booking slots with instruction available, and the wave operates continuously from within a shopping center, making it accessible regardless of season or ocean conditions. The facility circulates approximately 400,000 liters of water through the wave system.
