More about Frejulfe
Frejulfe is a sandy beach break that produces peaks across its length with both left and right-handers. The waves work at all tides but are better on a rising tide, reaching 4 to 6 feet on northwestern swells, with the best swell direction coming from the north to north-northwest. Offshore winds arrive from the southeast or south, and the surf remains fairly consistent year-round with winter being the most active season. The beach holds sandy bottom with pockets of exposed rock, particularly near the western end, and remains uncrowed relative to busier Asturian spots.
The beach occupies a designated natural monument area on the northern coast near Navia, framed by coastal cliffs and forested hills that give the setting a more remote character than nearby towns. Access is straightforward by car via the N-634 national highway and local NV-2 road leading to free parking areas near the entrance, though parking is moderately limited. Walking access is also possible via the Senda Costa Naviega coastal path, which connects toward Puerto de Vega. The beach itself stretches roughly 800 meters with dark sand and a dune system behind. Basic amenities include showers and rescue service, and there is marked accessible parking and equipment for people with mobility needs.
