More about Flatrock
Flatrock is a left-hand reef break on the Eyre Peninsula, with both left and right-hand waves available off a rocky bottom. In winter during southwest swells with easterly winds, the break handles 20 to 30 feet on good days, producing rides typically under 50 meters. The break is intermediate in difficulty and works across all tidal stages, though conditions are most consistent in winter.
Flatrock is located 500 to 600 meters offshore from Point Avoid near Coffin Bay National Park, requiring boat or jet ski access to reach. The remoteness of the spot contributes to it often being uncrowded, though it is sometimes busy during good conditions.
