More about Don Don
Don Don is an A-frame reef break in Gerupuk Bay about seven kilometers east of Kuta, Lombok, producing waves on both sides of the peak that break for roughly 50 meters. The left side tends to be steeper with more room for turns, while the right side is more forgiving and accessible to beginners. Waves typically range from three to eight feet and are best on mid to high tide with southern and south-southwest swell combined with offshore north to northeast wind. The spot works year-round but is most consistent during the dry season from April through October. The break sits over a coral reef that requires careful navigation, and sea urchins inhabit the water, posing a hazard to unprotected feet.
Access to Don Don requires a short boat ride from Gerupuk Village, where local operators offer regular transport to the break. The spot draws crowds, particularly during peak season and favorable swell windows.
