More about Consolaçao

Consolação is a long right-hand wave that breaks over a rocky reef bottom with scattered sea urchins, working best during low tide with northeast offshore winds and southwest to northwest swell. The wave typically appears fat and drawn-out but can peel into fast, tubing sections when swell is larger. Strong currents and powerful cleanup sets are common, especially on bigger days, making it an intermediate to advanced break. The rocky bottom, uneven entry points, and sea urchins make paddle-out and exit physically demanding, though the spot's location in a sheltered bay provides natural wind protection compared to more exposed Peniche breaks.

The beach sits roughly five kilometers south of central Peniche and sees less crowding than nearby Supertubos. Free parking is available at the beach entrance, though spaces are limited. Local buses serve the area, and access from parking to the water is straightforward despite the rocky approach.
