More about Cerritos

Cerritos is a right-hand point break that produces consistent waves, typically in the waist-to-chest-high range, with the best shape occurring on high tide. It works year-round but peaks during winter months from November through March, when west-southwest Pacific groundswell is most reliable. Offshore winds from the east-northeast are ideal. The spot draws surfers of all levels and is notably less crowded than other breaks in the region.

The break evolved from its origins as a fishing village into a widely recognized destination known for welcoming surfers new to the sport. Since at least the early twentieth century, the area has developed a laid-back character that has attracted waves-seekers drawn to its consistent Pacific swell and relaxed atmosphere.

Cerritos lies about 40 to 50 kilometers northwest of Cabo San Lucas along Highway 19, roughly 45 to 50 minutes by car. Access is via a well-maintained dirt road turning off at kilometer marker 66; the main beach sits only about 15 minutes south of Todos Santos. Los Cabos International Airport is the nearest major transportation hub, roughly 50 minutes away by car, with rental vehicles and shuttle services readily available.
