More about Castaways Beach

Castaways Beach is a beach break on the Noosa stretch with waves peeling in both directions and a reputation for consistency even in moderate swells. Southeast swell provides the most reliable groundswell, enhanced by offshore west-northwest wind; the beach works across all tides. At smaller sizes the break can accommodate beginners, while maintaining appeal for intermediate surfers seeking mellow, uncrowded waves. Winter, particularly June, delivers the most predictable conditions.

The beach has hosted longboard competitions organized by the Noosa Malibu Club as part of the regional Festival of Surfing calendar, though it remains primarily a local's break rather than a competition hub. Beyond this, public records of notable sessions or surfers specifically associated with Castaways do not appear readily available.

Castaways sits between Sunrise and Peregian beaches with straightforward road access off David Low Way. A recently upgraded carpark provides facilities including toilets, showers, water fountains, and benches. The beach is unpatrolled by lifeguards. Rips and undertow remain hazards; while low crowd levels make it accessible, this also means fewer eyes in the water during unfavorable conditions.
