More about Bridges

Bridges is a right pointbreak in downtown Aguadilla, with a sand-and-reef bottom spread across roughly 100 meters of the waterfront. The waves are playful and peeling, starting at 0.9 to 1.5 meters and holding up to 2 meters, most consistently during the winter months from January through April. Best conditions require a northwest swell combined with easterly or southeasterly winds that keep the break glassy. The spot handles all skill levels and tends toward frequent crowds.

The broader Aguadilla area has been a major Caribbean surf destination at least since the late twentieth century—the region hosted the ISA World Championship in 1988 and was later designated a World Surfing Reserve. Bridges itself is an established local spot within that tradition, though specific notable competitions or surfers tied directly to the break are not well documented in available sources.

Bridges is accessed from Route 107 via Route 111, descending toward Paseo Real Marina in the downtown waterfront area near the government buildings. The shore consists of flat rock with sand, making swimming inadvisable. Town runoff causes recurring pollution issues. The break sits roughly 4 kilometers from Crash Boat Beach, another popular nearby option in the area. Parking is available nearby.
