More about Boneyard

Boneyard is a demanding right-hand reef break situated within a rocky amphitheater just above Ulu at the point's northern edge. On larger winter swells exceeding two meters, the outside peak presents a steep takeoff over a deepwater ledge that drops into a tight tube, before the energy fades and regroups into a walling section over the shallow inner reef. Southwest to southeast winds provide the best conditions, and the break handles swell across all tidal stages, though it particularly rewards northeast and mid-range swell angles.

The break carries serious hazards beyond technical difficulty: a maze of razor-sharp black rocks through the impact zone and impact area, a prolific sea urchin population in the shallows, rips channeling between the reefs, and a strong territorial local presence. The takeoff zone is noticeably constricted, leaving little room for hesitation or error. Shark presence in the region adds to the inherent risk profile.

Access is straightforward with parking readily available nearby, though the gnarly reputation and demanding entry conditions mean the crowd naturally stays small and local-focused.
