More about Blueys Beach

Blueys Beach breaks as a sand-bottomed beach break with a rock wedge at the southern end that provides alternative shape for more experienced surfers. The most favorable conditions arrive with northeast swell combined with west-northwest offshore winds; southeast swells can also produce rideable surf. The break generates powerful right-handers and responds best during winter months. The beach can hold substantial size, with waves running 400–500 metres offshore during large southeast swells. This is intermediate to advanced terrain rather than a beginner's wave.

Rocky headlands frame both ends of the beach, creating natural tidal pools but also contributing to the hazard profile. The unpatrolled status means no lifeguard supervision, and the break is known for strong rip currents and powerful undercurrents that lead to regular rescues. The beach itself stretches nearly a kilometre and must be accessed entirely on foot, descending from headlands over 200 metres high on either flank.

I found no record of notable competitions, historical sessions, or competition surfers specifically tied to Blueys Beach in available sources.
