More about Bergen aan zee
Bergen aan Zee is an exposed beach break that produces both left and right-hand waves, remaining fairly consistent year-round except during summer when conditions typically flatten considerably. The break responds best to northwest swell combined with east winds (offshore), with optimal conditions occurring near high tide as it begins to fall. Despite good-quality waves, the spot remains relatively uncrowded even on favorable days. Rip currents are a notable hazard and require caution.
The beach sits along the North Holland coast with multiple nearby parking areas (Parkweg, Van Der Wijckplein, Van Hasseltweg) and straightforward vehicle access. Spring offers the most reliable conditions, particularly in May, when consistent clean swells are most frequent.
