More about Beer Point
Beer Point is a sand-bottomed point break with an A-frame barrel section in the center, flanked by a longer, more powerful left wave and a gentler right-hander. It works across all tide stages and handles both summer windswells and winter groundswells from the southwest, with offshore winds from the west-northwest providing the cleanest conditions. Winter offers the most consistent swell, peaking in December.
Beer Point suits intermediate surfers particularly well, though it can hold smaller waves suitable for beginners and groms during lighter swell periods. The rocky beach around the break requires sturdy footwear and careful board handling.
Access is straightforward from two car parks on the cliffs above Beer—the larger parking area involves a five-minute walk down to the beach, with public facilities available. The spot remains lightly crowded relative to other South Devon breaks despite being a established regional destination.
