More about Bahia Chileno
Bahia Chileno is a reef break that produces both left and right-hand waves, with the right-hand side characterized as a gentle, rolling break suitable for beginners and longboarders. The most reliable swell direction is from the south-southeast, with northwest winds creating the best offshore conditions. Summer months, particularly May, offer the most consistent waves, though the spot remains generally fickle. Rip currents are a known hazard.
The beach sits roughly 6 to 12 kilometers from Cabo San Lucas along Highway 1, sheltered within a crescent-shaped bay. Parking is free but fills up by mid-morning; early arrival is necessary on busy days. The lot sits a short walk from the sand, with basic facilities including showers, restrooms, and lifeguards. Access by taxi or rideshare from Cabo town runs 20–40 USD and takes about 20 minutes.
