More about Asling's Beach

Asling's Beach is a sand beach break facing east-southeast across Twofold Bay with waves typically 1–1.5 metres. A notable right-hander forms at the southern end near the rock pool, which fires well during southeast swells with west winds offshore. The break favors beginners, with the northern end offering additional shelter and smaller waves except during larger south swells. Rocks and rip currents, particularly one identified as "Rip 318," present hazards; the beach is unpatrolled and sees its most consistent conditions during winter months, particularly around January.

The break has been surfed since at least the mid-20th century—an ocean baths complex was constructed between January and October 1961 at the southern end, following advice from the local Eden Surf Club in 1948. It remains primarily a local spot rather than a destination break; nearby Pambula Beach and Merimbula offer stronger wave options.

Asling's Beach is accessed via Aslings Beach Road from the Princess Highway, minutes walk from Eden's town centre. Free parking is available at a large car park; the southern end features a picturesque rock pool and amenities including picnic areas, public toilets, gas BBQs at the adjacent Apex Park, and a boardwalk. The beach is 2.3 kilometres long and remains a family-friendly location despite the lack of lifeguard services.
