More about Alisitos

Alisitos is an exposed beach break offering both left and right-hand waves over a sandy bottom with rocky areas. The break handles southwest swell best, particularly in combination with northeast offshore winds, though it cannot accommodate large straight west swells effectively. Most of the consistent surf here originates from groundswells with long periods. Summer months provide the most favorable conditions, with October frequently cited as the peak season, though the spot produces rideable waves only about 29% of the time in that month with frequent wind-blown conditions.

The spot lies just south of Campo Lopez along the coast south of Ensenada, approximately 40 kilometers from the nearest airport. Relatively few surfers frequent the break even on favorable days. A campground called Alisitos K58 Surf Point sits at kilometer 58 on the highway connecting Tijuana and Ensenada, offering overnight camping for modest daily rates. Several restaurants and bars sit within walking distance of the break, and the general atmosphere among visiting and local surfers is reported as welcoming.
