History
Tropical Brasil is a Florianópolis surfboard maker associated with shaper and designer Avelino Bastos. Its timeline dates the first factory to 1981, while a 2007 business case study places the company's founding in November of that year. The company credits Bastos with constructing a shaping machine in 1988 and developing the SIRAP revision in 1992. Later entries record EPS/epoxy CWXes in 2015 and stringerless Concept in 2017, followed by Blade in 2019, whose construction replaces the central stringer with fiber reinforcements. These named technologies represent distinct construction families within the maker's history.
