History
Surftech, founded by Randy French in California in 1989, created surfboards using Tuflight, a composite construction with expanded polystyrene blanks, high-density PVC foam, and epoxy/fiberglass. The brand, active through 2023, was ridden by Joel Tudor, Laird Hamilton, and Robert August. Surftech operated as a United States-based surfboard manufacturer until its closure.
