John Simon operates Simon Shapes, a custom surfboard shaping business in Ventura, California, founded in 2016. Known for hand-shaping performance boards that incorporate inverted panel V bottoms (a design inspired by Jeff Alexander), steps, and varying concave configurations, Simon creates custom fishes, eggs, performance shortboards, and step-up designs tailored to individual surfer needs and break types. He is part of the Trimcraft shapers crew and all boards are shaped by hand in Ventura.
