History
Sakal Surfboards is a family-owned shaper and retail shop in Huntington Beach established in 1984 by Ed Sakal, a former employee of Greg Noll and Lightning Bolt. The shop specializes in hand-shaped custom boards built entirely in-house and never outsourced, with all designs tailored to individual surfer needs. Ed's son Ryan became a professional surfer and shaper who later worked with major brands (Quiksilver, Billabong, Chris Christenson) before returning to carry on the family name.
