History

Sadhana Surfboards is a New Zealand maker whose own history dates its initial idea to 1997 and a move to Christchurch to 2008. The business emphasizes individually crafted boards and separates that brand history from a longer Jackman-family involvement in surfing and shaping. Its range includes logs, mid-lengths, fish and shortboards.

The South Island Fish illustrates its approach to older templates: a 1970s-inspired fish outline is paired with a more contemporary foil, low rocker and bottom contours that finish in vee, with twin-keel or split-keel quad alternatives. Construction is model-specific. Sadhana lists PU and polyester for the King Fish, while the Superblob uses a stringerless EPS and epoxy build with Innegra and carbon reinforcement. Those examples describe distinct designs and builds within the range.
