Ryan Lovelace

Ryan Lovelace's official site distinguishes two production lines. Lovelace Handshapes are customs he shapes from raw blanks, adjusting outlines, rails and rocker to the rider's aims, style and waves. Lovemachine Surfboards uses CNC-cut shapes finished by collaborators in factories in several countries.

Lovelace says he began building boards at nineteen because he could not afford the designs he wanted to try. He identifies v.Bowls as a central design since 2010. In a 2013 Surf Europe interview, he explained how that model adapts curves he likes from hulls into an outline he can control and carve from the back foot. Those design details belong to v.Bowls within his wider range.
