History
Robert August Surfboards was founded by Robert August, a legendary surfer featured in Bruce Brown's iconic 1966 documentary The Endless Summer. August began shaping boards professionally in the mid-1960s and established his company in 1974 in Huntington Beach, California, where it remains today. He was among the earliest shapers to adopt epoxy/veneer construction technology through his partnership with Surftech, and his designs—particularly the "What I Ride" longboard and the "Wingnut" series—are known for durability, ease in larger waves, and exceptional floating characteristics.
