About
The Cheater 60 revisits Harbour's step-deck design, which the company traces to experiments around 1965. Harbour explains the original scooped deck as an attempt to let the nose flex during noseriding and reduce swing weight in turns. For the Cheater 60, it studied a vintage Cheater, shortened the deck recess and widened the outline. The shorter step addressed the maker's concern that the older scoop's edge pressed into a paddling surfer's chest. Harbour introduced this version for its sixtieth anniversary. Its listed build pairs parallel cedar stringers and a foam tail block with a dedicated Cheater 60 Volan glass fin.
