History
Gulfstream Surfboards is a North Devon board builder whose official history dates its first boards in Woolacombe to 1993. The company now identifies Saunton, England, as its design and manufacturing base. Its range covers longboards, shortboards, fish, midlengths and alternative shapes.
Custom work is organized into three levels. Signature combines an existing model with artwork from the range; Variation allows personal artwork or nonstandard details; Premium covers more specific projects, including detailed custom shapes and collaborations. Gulfstream says it can adjust dimensions around the surfer's height, weight and ability. Shaper Jools Matthews separately traced his own introduction to shaping to a 1991 California trip in a 2016 interview, preceding the company's stated Woolacombe start.
