Guga Arruda, also known as Gustavo Arruda, is a Brazilian surfer, shaper and board designer. His official model page presents designs under the Arquivo Surf Boards label, including Evolution, a pointed-nose hybrid between a funboard and shortboard, and Revolution, a compact design that he says he developed for himself. The page links those shapes to different balances of paddling and maneuverability. In an April 2024 Waves interview, Arruda discussed matching boards to a rider's ability and intended waves. The interview also described his role in developing Powerlight Surfboards; he said that Powerlight used shaping machines and that he no longer shaped manually at that time.
