Dewey Weber Surfboards

History

Dewey Weber founded his surfboard company in 1960 at age twenty-two, establishing it as surfing's second-largest manufacturer by the 1960s. His Weber Performer was the best-selling surfboard model of all time. He pioneered critical manufacturing innovations including the cut-away "hatchet" fin, removable fin systems, and the first milling machine for board production. Dewey also created surfing's first sponsored team, the "Red Coats," with distinctive uniforms and a roster of elite riders including world champions.
