History
Chilli Surfboards, founded by Jamie Cheal in 1997 in Sydney, Australia, is known for high-performance shortboards and custom construction techniques that prioritize speed, agility, and responsiveness. Cheal, who began shaping boards in the mid-1990s, became recognized for building tournament-winning designs—most notably the boards Andy Irons rode to his third World Tour title in 2004. The brand has developed proprietary weave technologies combining carbon fiber and Innegra S cloth with Twin Tech EPS/Epoxy construction to achieve performance-oriented flex patterns in real-world conditions.
