About

The Fever is an all-around performance shortboard developed with Mike Andrews and Patrick Gudauskas for speed, drive and flair across a wide range of conditions. It combines design elements from the Proton, Rookie, Remix and MBM to create a more accessible tour-level board with a dependable sweet spot.

Features

  • Lower overall rocker and a subtle single concave add speed and drive; the outline is slightly more parallel and forgiving
  • It retains the Rookie’s entry and rail rocker concepts with reduced overall rocker, and uses a shallower concave like the Remix for adaptability in less-than-perfect waves
  • The MBM-inspired hip squash adds pivot off the bottom and release off the lip; a slightly wider nose and tail than the Rookie create a more parallel outline and more drive
  • Designed for roughly 2–3 ft softer beach and point waves through 6 ft-plus performance surf; ride it above a groveler or small-wave board and up to when a step-up or round tail is needed
  • General sizing follows a normal shortboard. Pat’s example is 5'10" × 18½" × 2¼", with a full 2¼-inch thickness for added stability and flow; the tail hip supports extra volume through the rail
