History
Almond Surfboards & Designs is a California brand focused on boards for everyday surfing. Its history places founder Dave Allee and shaper Griffin Neumann-Kyle working together in 2007; Allee's later essays distinguish his first completed board that year from the retail shop opening in 2009. The model range covers different aims, including wave count, trim, noseriding and drawing lines across longer faces. Almond separates its fiberglass boards from the R-Series, introduced in 2018. The maker describes that line as injection-molded from high-density copolymer foam and says each new R-Series model requires further development, testing and tooling. That construction belongs to the R-Series family within a broader range of board designs.
